There... now that we have the essentials out of the way:) if you don't care to read all the details feel free to skip the rest and just gawk over our perfect little addition. (the really professional looking ones were, of course, taken by my sister the rest of course are just us:))

SHE'S HERE!!!! And we are just loving her! She is such a sweetheart, I can't get over her. It is so much fun having another girl in the house I can't even tell you. She has been perfect from her first moment and the fun and excitement only grows. My little family is bringing me more joy than I could ever imagine possible!

So here's the story of Miss Tenley's arrival....

On Monday morning (the 11th) we decided that we would have me induced into labor (which basically meant no sleep for either of us the night before. Thanks Suz for taking Owen Sunday night.) Thankfully I got an early call saying that they need to push my time back a couple of hours to 9:30, which again meant a little more shut eye for us! Woo Woo! After a morning of just Tanner and I taking our time and a quick bite we headed to the hospital! It was so weird not having contractions, barely being dialated to a 2, water still intact, and going to the hospital.

By 10:30 I was all hooked up and ready to go and by 11:00 I was on Pitocin. And then we waited.... and waited..... and waited. They knew that I was contracting by the computer but I didn't feel any of it. So of course Tanner and I had to entertain ourselves:) and I tell you what if you are ever in a situation where you know that you are going to be bored out of your mind, just bring Tanner along:). He can pull entertainment out of thin air! Some of our activities included listening to music, playing games on his iphone, talking about names:), and of course Shark Man (basically Hang Man that Tanner had to make more interesting, ha ha.).

Last moments of being preggy! YEAH!!!!

After being on the full dose of Pitocin for a couple of hours and only dialated to a 4 they decided to break my water at 5:00 and as soon as the doctor walked out the door the anesthesiologist walked in... epidural at the ready:). I tell you what though. I should have gotten the epi first! As soon as my water broke the contractions came hard and fast! (90 sec apart lasting 30 to 45 sec!) The hour from 5 to 6 was a rough one and I don't know what I would have done without Tanner being there to supporting and taking care of me! Finally the epi kicked in and I was good! By 7:00 I was dialated to a 10 and ready to push! The doc was in the room by 7:15 and she was here at 7:26! It was such an amazing experience! I just cried. She has such a strong spirit and we feel so blessed to have her in our home!

Thanks to all of our wonderful friend and family who came to visit in the hospital and helped with Owen! We are so grateful for your love and support!

Thanks to all those who have helped with Owen the last couple of weeks! It has been so great to know that he has been well taken care of. My sister Suz had O a lot! After seeing these pics it is a wonder he came home with us:). Owen LOVES his cousins! Thank you thank you!

So far she is still perfect, sleeping through the night the first two nights and eating like a champ! We took her to the doctor today and she is 3oz from her birth weight. It took a couple of days for Owen to warm up to wanting to hold her but it only took once and he was hooked! He loves her! It is so sweet how we can already see them being good buddies.

That's right folks, we found out today that we are having a beautiful baby...

GIRL!!!!!

I can't even express my excitement! Tanner can't either (he didn't talk for a while tonight after we found out, :) the thought of a girl is a little overwhelming for him. Ha ha ha!). He will be deep in thought for a while and then ask the funniest questions like, "What if she gets my nose?". Ha ha ha! Oh he makes me laugh! He is the perfect dad for a girl. Or boy:).

We can't wait to meet our little girl!Yeah for ruffles and dresses!

valentines day. the day of love. yes, i will admit that i used to HATE v-day. but now that i have a valentine that i get to have for the rest of eternity... it's not so bad:). i love that there is one day of the year set aside that i can celebrate us and express how much i love my man. i think of it more as a second anniversary:). love it!

to my two little valentines this year... i love you more than i could ever express!

So I know that I am the worst blogger ever and yes my sister did give me a small rebuke for it, so here I am posting, and I tell you what our Christmas was too amazing not to post about! Nothing super fabulous happened or anything but it will be one of the most memorable Christmas' of my life.

Owen was so so so much fun this year! He didn't wake up until after 9:00am on Christmas morning! I am sure the latest we will sleep in on Christmas morning for a long time. So Tanner and I got up and got ready for the day and started making breakfast.

When Owen finally woke up the present opening began! It was so fun to see him discover what a gift is. He was so cute opening all the gifts and getting so excited about each one (including mom and dad's:)).

Owen's most favorite present was and still is his basketball hoop! He has been obsessed with them lately! The fact that there is a hoop in the building during church really makes it hard for him to think about anything else:).

Owen is quite the dancer lately and when he discovered the siren on his truck he couldn't help but bust a couple of moves! Seriously, I don't think that he could be cuter!

One of the gifts from Tanner's parents was the book Return by Elder Robert D. Hales, an apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and good friend of Tanner's grandpa. The front page was signed and had a sweet message for Tanner. This is such a cherished gift!

Tanner, of course, immediately set up Owen's hoop as soon as we were done with gifts and that little boy could have played for hours with that thing! True sign of a great gift.:)

A couple of side notes:
1. I know our tree looks shabby. Let's just say that Owen has REALLY enjoyed the tree this year which resulted in a half decorated, shabby looking, but loved tree.
2. This year I decided if I can make a wedding dress and I don't know how many formal and non-formal dresses for clients, I can defiantly make some jammies for Owen. So here they are! They turned out exactly how I wanted excluding the fact that the zipper came up too high on Owen's neck so it really bothered him. So we just unzipped it a little and called it good.:)

The rest of the day was filled with family on both sides including talking to my amazing brother Jesse on his mission in Brazil! Also all of my Oklahoma siblings flew in Christmas evening and were here for 2 weeks!!! We are so blessed to have such wonderful family members and to live close to so many!

This Christmas was so special with Owen. As an adult the magic of Christmas has faded for me, but now with Owen it brings such new meaning and really is so fun and so much better than I could have imagined! His wonder and discovery is so priceless and is something I hope to never forget. Oh the things Owen teaches us. We love our sweet boy!

This Christmas was so special for Tanner and I as well. For lack of desire to explain but having the desire to remember, Tanner wrote me a letter that he put in my stocking that truly captured the essence of our situation right now and the love that we share as a couple and family. I hope to always remember this Christmas!

And last but not least....

WE ARE EXPECTING!!!

Baby #2 is on it's way and due July 16th! We couldn't be more excited!!!

On September 28th I turned 24! And I am convinced that it was the best birthday yet! Tanner spoiled me rotten the weekend before with lots and lots of shopping,dinner, and surprised me with tickets to...

THE LION KING! It was the most amazing show! The costumes were phenomenal! I loved every second of it! My hubby knows me so well:).

I took this from our seats. They were fabulous!

For my actual birthday he got off work early to take me shopping... again, and took me out to dinner. What did I say before? Yep SPOILED! Thank you my sweet hubby for a wonderful day!

We have been having so much fun this summer and fall now that Tanner has graduated that it seems as though our poor neglected blog is the last priority on my list. Alas, it is time for an extremely overdue update.

Jackson Hole
Back in August we headed to Jackson Hole with Jill and Grant and it was a hoot to say the least!

The car ride actually went by fairly quickly, but it did require some entertaining on Owen's behalf.:)
{Owen in his hut:) This saved us! Owen has a game that he likes to play with himself where he will just scream at the top of his lungs for no reason! By the end of the car ride we got smart and taught him a game that involved him screaming into his blanket. It muffled the sound and cracked Owen up:). Win win!}

The first night was, mildly put, ROUGH! Owen was up most of the night and this is what I woke up to... Tanner had held Owen most of the night. He slept fine so long as Tanner held him. Too bad Tanner didn't get any sleep:). Thanks to Jill and Grant for being patient!

And this is what Jill woke up to... Grant UNDERNEATH the sheets! Ha ha! Apparently he was cold. It still cracks me up!

In the morning we headed to the Farmers Market for breakfast. So fun!

So the whole reason we really came is because Grant had a bagpipe competition. The got first in the two categories they competed in! Congrats Grantis Pantis! It was fun to be there and there was a GORGEOUS view. Owen loved all of the dogs at the competition and wasn't shy about crawling as fast as he could toward them.:)

After the competition we headed back to the park to hike around Jenny Lake. It was beautiful!

The trip was so much fun! It is amazing how even though I have lived right next to mountains my whole life the Tetons are so amazingly majestic! Thanks for making it what it was Grant and Jill!

And now presenting our little walker! {this is the best I have of Owen's first steps and yes it is at the bagpipe competition. He literally runs everywhere now!}

Our summer was packed with family, friends, and most of all each other! It has been so nice to just be together going to the park, the pool, the city festivals, golfing (that's right, Tanner took me a few times!), baseball games, fishing, hikes and picnics. So sad that summer is over.

Tanner is now officially graduated with his

Bachelors Degree in Business Management with and emphasis in International Business!!!!

WOOO! I can not even put into words how beyond proud I am of him. He has worked so hard going to school full time and working full time to be sure that he is fulfilling his role as a husband and father. I am so so grateful for his willingness and drive to get through school.

Now what?! Honestly we really don't know. For sure a couple years of working, with a chance of a Master's degree in the near future. As for now.... enjoying having more Tanner time:).

Happy Birthday Tanner!
24!

Tanner's birthday was on Wednesday July 21st and we had so much fun celebrating! I have officially decided that it is a whole lot more fun if you celebrate birthdays for about a week before and a week after the actual birthday. I love any excuse to party!

We started celebrating Saturday morning by heading to the Lindon Aquatic Center with Jill and Grant. It was a blast! Seriously laughed my face off at the boys doing the FlowRider! They actually did get better the more they did it:)

Later that night Jill and Grant were nice enough to watch Owen while Tanner and I headed to the Gateway down town for a hot date and a little shopping! We got Tanner some sweet shades for his birthday present, shopped in Anthropology (my fav) and almost every other store there:). Love the Gateway in the summer! Afterward we then we headed to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner, yum, and then to the theater to see the movie 'Knight and Day'! It was so much fun and so nice to have a date with the two of us!

I didn't take any pictures but these are the sun glasses Tanner got! hoot hoot!

On Tanner's actual birthday he was gone for most of the day, so when he got home I threw him a little Bahama party with just the three of us complete with leis, grass skirts, Cafe Rio (at least it's south of the border:)) and of course a pina colada with a dash of strawberry! Yuh huh huh hum!!! (Again no pictures!)

Then on Saturday we celebrated my mom's birthday and Tanner's birthday with my family. It was so much fun to celebrate on Pioneer Day so that we could do a little firework show!!! I think that other than the pool, fireworks are Owen's favorite summer activity! It is so fun to just watch him applaud each firework and squeal out of excitement!

I am so grateful for my sweet hubby and thank our Heavenly Father everyday that I can have him now and forever!

So last night, after we had put Owen down, Tanner and I were playing Word Warp (super fun game) when I suddenly had a craving for a delicious gooey s'more. Not just any s'more.... one with Reese peanut butter cup! I had never tried it before but was told by a friend that I MUST. So I decided last night that I MUST try one! After some coxing, Tanner gave in and we headed to the kitchen to try to figure out how we would make a s'more with no fire.

First problem: How to roast the mallow?
Solution: A spaghetti noodle of course!!! With the stove as our fire. We had to keep switching hands to keep our fingers from burning, and the noodle started to droop after the first little bit.... but for the most part it actually worked pretty well!

Second Problem: How to warm the peanut butter cup for added gooey deliciousness? I was told by my friend that her husband balances his cup on his graham over the fire.
Solution: Balance the graham on a fork with the pb cup on it right? WRONG!

It started out fine until I moved and the peanut butter cup and graham landed right on the burner and immediately went up in FLAMES!!!!! (Tanner always says that I have a unique grace about me:)) I was freaking out to say the least! Tanner got most of it off the burner while I grabbed the baking soda.

Second Solution: The microwave. Worked well and had no potential for injury or possible death.

The end result was a fabulously gooey s'more just like I wanted. I would definitely have it again maybe just carry it out differently.:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEN!

Happy Birthday my little ham! I can't believe that my baby is 1! The past year has flown by so fast! We had so much fun celebrating our little buddy.
One of Owen's most favorite things is WATER! So the first thing that we did in the morning is suit up and head to Seven Peaks. Our season passes this year were the best purchase! It is so much fun to watch Owen and how much he lovie love loves it!

Most of Tanner's family and all of mine that are living in Utah came. It was so much fun to have everyone there. Thanks to all who came and made Owen's day so special. And to my cute faced siblings and their families... we missed you!!!

{side note: this was so so so much fun for me to put together, and yes there was a lot of teasing that came from Tanner. ultimately I really think that he had as much fun as I did! Well... maybe not quite as much:) but he did have fun:)

At least I had a few proud moments of the beautiful cake I had made. haha:) it was actually really funny.

Owen loved opening presents! I love how kids are just as entertained with the paper as the presents at his age. He did understand that he was getting some pretty cool things though.:) Thanks to all who brought gifts and spoiled Owen! He loves them and has been playing with them non-stop!

I was actually surprised about the cake eating. He never really dug in until I gave him a spoon, and even then he had pretty good manners.

It was so much fun celebrating our little man! He brings so much joy to our home and makes us laugh everyday! We are so blessed to have him!

Last weekend Tanner and I left this cute face...

And headed to the happiest place on earth for the first time together to celebrate our anniversary!!!!

This was the first time we have left Owen over night and we were gone for 4days and 3nights! Yes I cried, and talked about him most of the trip, but it was so amazing to get away with Tanner and we are so glad that we did it! I love love loved it!!!! Thanks to Tanner's bro McKay and his wife Molly for watching our boy!

We left our phones in the hotel everyday and only brought the camera for half of a day. It was actually really nice!

This is my favorite street maybe in the entire world! So many fun memories! This pic was taken on our Magic Morning when you get to go to the park an hour early. I loved that the street was completely empty!

It was so fun to go with Tanner and see the things about Disneyland that he loves. He has been talking about "the guns" since we started planning the trip! It is pretty cute that this is one of his favorite parts of Disneyland that he HAS to do.:)

The Matterhorn
I will admit it.... I really like High School Musical 3. At California Adventure they had this stage that went around with performers singing the songs from the movie. It was pretty sweet!:)
This is the new Toy Story ride at California Adventure. It was actually really fun. Tanner's a funny guy.Going on trips you always seem to learn new things about each other. For example....

What Tanner learned: Michelle does NOT have a very good sense of direction!
What Michelle was reminded of: If Tanner gets grouchy... FEED HIM!!!!

Tanner's highlight of the trip: After waiting for an hour and a half for Space Mountain we were finally let in and somehow Michelle led us straight to the exit. (Tanner was laughing way too hard.:)) Which takes us back to what Tanner learned.

Michelle's highlight of the trip: Tanner holding my arms so that neither of us could hold on while riding the Matterhorn. I was laughing so hard I almost wet my pants!

It was so fun to come home to Owen who when he saw us he smiled and kicked his legs out of excitement for seeing us!

Overall it was an amazingly much needed trip that was way too much fun!

Happy 1st Mothers Day & Happy 2nd Anniversary!

So not only did I get to celebrate Mother's Day for the first time but I also got to celebrate getting married to the man of my dreams two years ago. Needless to say.... I had the most amazing Sunday! It was so fun to celebrate the two guys that I love most in my life.

Our 2nd Anniversary!
To celebrate our anniversary Tanner took me to see Iron Man 2 and went to to our favorite... Cafe Rio! It may not be special to other people but it has been a huge part of our marriage!:) On Sunday I took Tanner on a little picnic in the park. It was nice to have a little time to ourselves.

{Beautiful day for a picnic! at our wedding we had a chocolate fountain and never got to try it. So I dipped some pretzels and strawberries for our picnic.}

And as if that weren't enough, in a couple of weeks Tanner is taking me to the Happiest Place on Earth..... DISNEYLAND! Just the two of us! I can't wait!

It has been the best two years being married to Tanner and so far with each year has gotten so much sweeter. This last year has been a big one with Owen coming into our lives. Tanner has been there every step of the way. He has been there through out the pregnancy, going to birthing class with me (though protesting, still came:)), helping me through labor, being there through every breakdown, late nights, and sicknesses. He has been so supportive and has just made life so sweet and just happy! He is the most thoughtful man and always knows what to do to make me laugh. He truly is the man of my dreams. I can't wait to see what this next year will bring! I love you hubba hubby!

My first Mother's Day!
To celebrate Mother's Day Tanner took me shopping! Nothing is more refreshing to me than getting a couple new shirts:)

You know when you are in grade school and the teacher has you draw a picture of what you want to be when you grow up and write a sentence about it? Well with every assignment that I ever had like that I would always say that I wanted to be a mom and I would draw myself holding a little baby. That's what I wanted to do when I grew up.
I love love being a mom to my sweet little Owen man. He has made me realize so much about myself (both good and bad). He is so patient and loving. I am so grateful that Tanner is so supportive and has given me my dream job of being a mom!

Last but not least... Happy Mother's Day to my own mom! She is absolutely amazing in every way and is such a blessing in my life! I love you mom!!!!

Tanner's family has a get together once a month and when we are all together it is just easier to celebrate all of the birthdays/holidays that are going on that month. So we celebrated 5 birthdays and Mother's day this Saturday and it was so much fun!

Amy (Tanner's sis) had us all over and it was amazing! She went all out and even got a pony!

I tell you what, with all of those kids there that pony was put to work. I don't think it ever stopped! Owen loves animals and gets a little excited and usually will pull any hair or fur that he can. I was a little worried at first but the pony didn't seem to mind:).

FHE at the Pool

Owen loves loves water in any way, shape or form.
He loves cleaning up from meals just so that he can put his hands under the running water.
When we are a little rambunctious at church we go out to the drinking fountain and with out fail makes him happy.
And we LOVES his bath time.

So last week for Family Home Evening we headed to the old Provo Rec Center Pool.
Oh the love!
It was so fun to plan our fhe just around Owen. We had so much fun!

So we aren't sure what the deal was with this red thing behind us, but it didn't matter where we were in the pool we couldn't get away from it! Notice that it is in most of these pictures.

I love this video of Owen. His mouth was open like that most of the time we were there. So cute!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!!! I hope that you had as good of a day as we had. This year I was kind of a bum and didn't do baskets. I know.... no baskets on Easter?!?! Nope. But we did have such a fun day.

Tanner woke up and made breakfast and we watched General Conference. I am convinced that conference should always be held on Easter. It was amazing! After the first session we got to go and see my family and had an AMAZING Easter lunch and we stayed to watch the second session. During the session Owen found my parents basket that is full of Book of Mormons (Books of Mormon?). Of course I forgot the camera. Lucky for us Tanner had his iphone. These are the only pictures we got all day.... Owen reading the scriptures in his cute little Easter outfit. Pretty cute!:) (Sorry the pictures are kind of fuzzy.)

We then went to see Tanner's family and had another AMAZING Easter meal! Tanner's Grandpa and Grandma had just gotten back from serving their 6th ( yes... 6th!) mission, where they served in Sweden. It was so sweet to hear their experience while serving. We know it has blessed the family so much by them being so willing to serve.

It was so nice to spend the day with family and celebrate the resurrection of our Savior! He lives! With that knowledge brings the overwhelming joy that we can ever experience in this life. We are so blessed! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

9 months!

I can't believe that my little Owen is 9 months today!
He is growing way to fast! He is just the sweetest boy. We love him so much. We never thought that being a parent would be such a blessing and bring us as much joy as it has. He is just so perfect and teaches me new things everyday. Oh how grateful we are for our little O. Here are just a few things that we love about him....

I love his wave! Every morning when we go into the living room he waves to it. It's pretty cute:)

He loves to clap! And usually his timing is very appropriate. I know one of my dad's favorite things is when he hold Owen without fail he will ALWAYS pat his cheeks. {so sweet}
I love love love his playful personality! He is so much like his dad. Now every time I change his diaper he just stares at the door waiting for Tanner (whether he is there or not) to come and get him. He gets so excited that he just laughs and laughs and looses all control of his body. I love how much he loves his dad!
Love that sweet smile. He is always smiling {unless he is hungry:) again just like his dad}. He will smile at anyone and everyone. It is so adorable. He is just so loving.
I love love his hugs! A few weeks ago I had the flu and I think he just knew that I didn't feel good because when I got him out of his crib to be up for the day he just hugged me for literally a minute. It was the sweetest experience. It was like he knew I would feel better if he gave me a hug.
I love how animated he is. I don't know how he makes the facial expressions he does but it never ceases to amaze me or make me laugh.:) He once figured out how to whistle... yes whistle! It only lasted a couple of days and every once in a while he will figure it out again. Who knew?
I love how determined he is to do things his way. He will try to crawl, but as soon as he realizes he isn't getting anywhere he will roll and scoot to whatever he is trying to get to, and most the time it works out just fine.

I love those blue eyes! Not only are they gorgeous.... he expresses himself through his eyes. Whatever he is feeling you can see it in those eyes!
I love how curious he is. Notice he is trying to grab the camera in this picture:) He loves anything that he can grab, makes noise, or that he can chew on. That takes me back to his determination.... because when he sees something he wants he will not stop until he gets it {or until I distract him with something else:)}.

We love our sweet boy and feel so blessed that he is a part of our family!

The Sickies

We have been a bunch of sickies lately! About three weeks ago I got the flu. A few days later Tanner caught a "cold" (it sure seems like more than a cold to me!). The next week Owen had an ear infection (his first one), a fever of 102.5, and the same "cold" Tanner had. I felt so bad! I am convinced that nothing is worse than having a sick baby. So after we went to the doctor we had to stop at Toys R Us to get him a stuffed animal. It made him feel much better.:) And now my guys have passed on the "cold" to me. Seriously.... no fun!

We had such a fun Valentines Day... or should I say week:) Anyone who knows me knows that I love any excuse to celebrate! And nobody likes to tease me more about it than Tanner.

On Friday we dropped Owen off at Tanner's sister Amy's (thanks Amy:)) and Tanner took me shopping downtown at the Gateway and to dinner. Saturday he took me shopping again, yep... he loves me:). Sunday we just relaxed. It was such a nice day that we took Owen to the park. He loves the park! I have been taking him lately and he thinks the swings are so funny! And lets be honest, everything is more fun with dad!

Oh my two handsome guys! They make me so happy! I love love love them!!!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world!

Sundance 2010

Every year Tanner and I try to go to a couple of movies at the Sundance Film Festival with Tanner's brother Mckay and his wife Molly. I say try because we can't always get tickets to a movie. If you don't get tickets before you go you can stand in a line in front of the theater and get a number and take your chances to get in if they have extra seats. So far we have gotten in every year except last year. I do have to say that this is one of our favorite traditions! We have the funniest memories! So fun! If you get a chance... go!!! And once again... I didn't take any pictures. But this year we did get into a movie that Philip Seymour Hoffman directed and starred in and did get a picture of him during the Q and A after. The most exciting part was definitely the ride through Parley's Canyon! It was the craziest snow storm I had ever seen! There was just car after car that had slid off the road. Thanks Mckay for getting us home safely!

So I just found this picture of Owen. Seriouly so cute! We didn't take hardly any pics on Christmas morning but this is definately my favorite! Our Christmas was amazing! It was so much fun to have Owen this Christmas. We know that he doesn't really understand, and right now the paper is more exciting to him than the actual gift, but he brings such a special little spirit and makes Christmas morning so much more exciting. We love our little boy!

Christmas time is here!!! And I tell you what it has been a blast so far! I have been a terrible poster lately but only because we have been doing so much! Here is a quick run down of the things we have done this season so far.... at least that we have pictures of:)

For those of you who don't know Tanner is in a Bishopric of a singles ward. It has been such a blessing for us. We have met some of the most incredible people and they just love our little Owen! Not to mention the awesome activities!

FOOTBALL
Here we are cheering on the guys in our singles ward at their intermural flag football game. It was freezing but totally worth it! They had a huge fan club and even had a "Fan Appreciation" dinner after the season. They won the Championship this year!!! WOO WOO! ( I have to mention my cute little O Bear in his bear suit:) So cute! He LOVES football!!!)

CHRISTMAS PARTIES
This is at the singles ward Christmas Party. We had an awesome meal and then they acted out the book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". It was histerical! I am convinced that we have the funniest people in our ward!

If you can't tell, the sleigh is actually a couch with a motorized wheelchair on the bottom!

FESTIVAL OF TREES
Every year now we go to the Festival of Trees at the South Towne Expo Center. It is a huge fundraiser for Primary Children's Medical Center and I love it!!! They auction off the most amazing trees, wreaths, quilts, gingerbread houses, etc. and all the money goes to the Hospital. I can't help but think of our sweet Ashley girl (my neice) everytime I go now. She was there for the first few months of her life and is doing really well now but will be having open heart surgery on January 7th. We love you sweet girl and are praying for you!

WORK PARTIES

For Tanner's work party his boss took everyone to a go-kart place and had dinner catered by one of our favorites... Goodwood. Before you could get in your go kart you had to put on these awesome hair nets. That's pretty studdly if you ask me:)

TEMPLE SQUARE AND GATEWAY

We love going shopping at the Gateway and checking out the Temple Square lights! This picture was taken last year... we attempted to go see the lights after shopping but it was so cold and the Mo Tab concert just got out so we decided to just drive around it:) we'll see if we can make it back up this year to get a picture.

I am so grateful that Tanner is able and willing to go to school but I LOVE when he finishes up that last final! Now we can just just spend time together for the holidays! YEAH!!!

A blessing... brother leaving on a mission... and a new baby!!!

It has been a big week for us! Other than me working 2 jobs (other post) and Tanner working and going to school full time we blessed Owen on Sunday, my brother Jesse left on his mission on Tuesday to the Brazilia, Brazil mission, and my only sis just had their first baby Grace Anne. It has been the most amazing week just filled with blessings!

Owen's blessing day... was so great! I am such a lucky girl! I have the sweetest little boy in the whole world and I am so grateful for a wonderful worthy husband who can bless him. It was such a beautiful blessing. Thanks to all of the family who came and helped out! It really made the day special. I was so great to see so many righteous men standing in the circle... especially knowing that there are two more in Oklahoma and one in Brazil that are worthy to join. We love you all!

Elder Jesse John Roberts... left tuesday. It is always bitter-sweet to say goodbye to a missionary. He is amazing and will do awesome! We love our missionaries!!! Owen especially loves Jesse. It is so cute...he will always just grin at him with his mouth wide open.:)

Grace Anne... was born on Tuesday! We can't wait to see her! She is the daughter of my sister Suz and her hubby Matt. CONGRATS!!! She is just so beautiful! We can't wait to go to Oklahoma to see her! Love you guys!

So for those of you who know me well you know that I very much have the attitude of "If you can't find it.... make it!". Of course this applies mostly to extremely expensive clothing items.... formal dresses, wedding dresses, clothing in general really. Usually not much else. Well apparently I married the right man because Tanner thinks the same way when it comes to things that you can't find (or that are over priced) that you can possibly make.... headboards, accent tables, etc.
Well Tanner decided to put his carpentry skills to work when I decided I wanted a little accent table but couldn't find the right size for the right price. What a sweet hubby! So here are some pictures of my new accent table that Tanner made for me along with some of the headboard he made me a couple of months ago! So glad I married a man who loves me enough to built the crazy things in my head:). I always tease him that he is going to build our house some day..... he doesn't think that sounds like a very good idea:).

Happy Birthday my Love! We had so much fun! I think that I love Tanner's birthday more than he does:) It is so much fun to celebrate him and his life. The day started with a big breakfast on the red plate (the red plate is the "you are special" plate that is red, Tanner doesn't get it but it is a tradition in my family and I am continuing it into our own) he went to work for the day and I spent the day making him a golf ball cake. Why I took this task on I'm really not sure and it didn't turn out very well but either way I had fun. When he got back from work we went and got his gift.... the IPHONE!!! I have to admit it is sweet, and he was so excited! We then went to dinner to Goodwood and came back and sang happy birthday with Jill and Grant (thanks again for babysitting Owen). It was such a fun day!

(So I made 4 cakes cut them in the shape of a ball and cut out little dips with a melon baller. That was the fun part. Then came the frosting... nightmare!!! As you can tell from the picture of Tanner holding the cake, I lost all motivation to spend anytime on the detail of writing "Titleist". Next time we will try fondant. It didn't turn out as well as I wanted but it was made with love.:))

Tanner is so amazing and I am so glad that I was lucky enough to snag him! He is such a great hubby, dad, son, brother, uncle, and grandson. He is so loving, fun, selfless, kind, giving, hard working, handsome, tall, strong, and just an all around amazing man who lives life to the fullest! Happy Birthday!

One Month Old

We can't believe that Owen is one month old today! He is just the happiest boy and brings such a sweet spirit to our home. He is so much fun and we just love him to pieces! The last month has been a busy one. Poor Owen... we just take him everywhere! He is such a good baby though and is usually pretty good about it. Here are a few things that we have done...

SMILE... Owen smiles all the time! He's such a happy boy!

SLEEP... This is how we find Owen every morning with his field goal posts straight up! So funny! We can never wrap his arms in because he gets so frustrated and cries. He's a good sleeper though. The other night he slept for 6 1/2 hours! It was awesome!

TUMMY TIME... He is getting so strong! He can handle it for about 3 minutes and then he is done, so we put him on his boppy and stick in his binky and he loves it!

BATH TIME... Owen hates the bath! He always tries to escape. Check out the second picture:)

FISHING... We took Owen to the Spanish Oaks Reservoir for family night. We had Tanner's brother Mckay and his wife Molly and their son Graham come with us. It was a blast!

4TH OF JULY... We love the 4th of July! There is no other holiday like it. We love anything outside so to be outside with our family, food, and fireworks is possibly the greatest thing on earth! This year was so much fun! We went to the Granite Parade up in Sandy by Tanner's house. That has become a favorite tradition. We then went to Amy's (Tanner's sis) with all of his family and swam in their pool and celebrated the June and July birthdays. We then went to my fam's for dinner and fireworks. I love the 4th of July!

Owen Tanner Ensign

He has arrived and is just the sweetest litte thing! Throughout the whole labor and delivery Tanner and I both felt so protected and cared for by our Heavenly Father. It has been the most amazing 3 days!

So here's the story. My contractions started around midnight and my water broke around 2:00am Friday morning. So I woke Tanner up and told him it was time to go, which followed by the question, "Where?". He was super tired:). Next thing we knew we were at the hospital and my contractions were 2 minutes apart lasting for 30-40 seconds. The kicker was that I was only dialated to a two! So they had to run some tests to see if my water really broke otherwise they were sending us home. That was like the worst thought ever because I had already been having contractions like this since midnight and I was ready for an epidural!

Finally they determined it was and they kept me and the epidural was in by 4:30am. The only problem was that I could still feel my right side. So they took it out and replaced it and I could still feel it when I was at the height of a contraction.... either way, a relief! By the time they had everything settled with the epi it was 6:00am and we were tired.... so we slept! It was awesome! Granted it was only for about 10 minutes at a time for the next hour but it was rest either way.

By 8:30am I was only to a 4 so they started me on Pitocin at about 9 and by 11 I was pushing! After a couple of pushes they discovered that he was face up so the doctor just manually turned him (talk about a weird feeling) and a couple of pushed later he was here! Owen was born at 11:49am at 7lb 14oz and 20 inches long. He cried for the first 3 hours straight and ever since he has been PERFECT!!!! He sleeps for about 4 hours and eats and plays for about 15 minutes and is back to sleep. He is so much fun and so happy.

He is just the greatest blessing. Tanner and I have both learned so much and are so grateful that the Lord has blessed us with this little guy. It is amazing to see that from the very beginning that we can just see the Lord's hand in every aspect of Owen's coming and it has blessed our lives in the most amazing ways.

Big thanks to all of our family and friends for your love and support! It means the world to us to know that at anytime we can call(literally anytime.... like Heidi at 3:00am her time to see if my water really broke:)) and that you all would do anything to help. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!Here I am getting all set up

This is our trip to the Spanish Oaks Reservoir. We pulled in a couple of monsters that had to have been at least 8 inches long. We went for about an hour or so and caught some fish and had a great time! Little did I know I'd be going into labor in about 4 hours.

The sun never sets on a good lookin' guy. Notice the sun isn't even out and Tanner is wearing his shades. Still pretty cute though.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I can't believe it has already been a year!!! And it has been the best year of my life! A lot has happened this last year and being married and pregnant have been the most prominent. We have experienced the most amazing things already together and I am so grateful for the blessings of the temple that we can continue to have amazing experiences together FOREVER!!! That is such an amazing promise. I am so grateful that the Lord blessed me with my wonderful husband! He is so kind and loving in every way and is such a man of service (he is doing the dishes right now:)). He is such a selfless man and has an amazing love for the gospel and our Savior. I just feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I'm so grateful that the Lord brought us together. I can't wait to see what will happen in this next year!

A Little Nervous... And Super Excited!!!!

(The Exciting part) Da da da da!!!! Tanner and I got a crib and a car seat for the baby this week! FINALLY!!!! We are both super excited and happy with what we got and feel like the Lord has blessed us so much. This little guys must be pretty important because there have been so many blessings that neither of us can explain.

So I am sure that you are wondering, "Why have they waited until the baby is due in 6 weeks?" Well it wasn't because we were procrastinating. Believe me... Tanner was well aware that we had been shopping about a dozen times before we got anything, while also realizing that he has a super picky wife.:) The reason we were waiting so long is because we knew that we were moving... we just didn't know that we were moving 2 weeks before the baby is due. (The Nervous part) But now we can at least bring the baby home so we are super excited!

VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!!

VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!! So we decided that we both needed a break and a little get away together, so we headed out to Las Vegas! It was so much fun to just spend time and relax with my hubby. We stayed in St. George the first night and just drove around the town. Tanner went to Dixie down there for a year before his mission and was an ambassador, so he gave me the tour of all of his old stomping grounds. St. George has a lot of great memories for him so it was fun to hear all the funny stories of his pre-mission days.

The next day we headed to Vegas and stayed in a hotel right off the strip. All I wanted from the trip was time with Tanner.... and a tan! Well, no sun, no tan.:( But at least it was nice enough to be outside in the pool and I still loved it.

We walked around the strip for a while and went to a dinner show at the Excalibur. The dinner was all traditional medieval food, you know potatoes(french fries), broccoli, and yep... a chicken. Not a piece of one... a chicken! And it was all served with no utensils to work with. It was pretty funny and made it that much more memorable. So we just dug in!

The show started, and it was pretty cool. Knights were jousting and stuff, everything so far was really good, then it happened. Tanner starts wheezing and has super red watery eyes. Well it turns out that he is allergic to the horses. It was terrible! So we got him some allergy medicine and I am just praying that he will feel better. What am I going to do if he all the sudden goes into anaphylactic shock and stops breathing!?! Well the Lord answers prayers because about a half hour later the medicine kicked in and he was fine! Just our little adventure for the night.

The next day was about the same, hit the pool, hit the strip, and went to dinner at the Cheesecake factory!!! This was our big dinner that we were both super excited for and it definitely lived up to our expectations.

So sad that the vacations over but it was super fun to go with my hubby!

THIRD TRIMESTER

So I am officially in my third trimester as of Sunday! WOOOO! But I can already tell a difference from my (extremely comfortable) second trimester. I am having a little bit of insomnia and poor Tanner has it right along with me. (Poor guy) But I feel good! I feel healthy and strong and so does the baby! He's quite the kicker.:) We have an appointment tomorrow so we will see how it goes!

We've decided that he is just the cutest little guy! He was was a little shy at first crossing his legs but with a little encouragement (especially from Tanner) he seemed to be very proud showing off his little man part. As any dad would be, Tanner was very proud and showed it with a hearty, "YES!!!!":) We both can't wait!

So Tanner went hunting this last weekend in Wyoming. As you can tell by the picture he loved it! He went with Taft (his bro in-law) and his family (son Easton and brother Seth). They maxed out both days by 10:00a.m. As much as I missed him I'm glad they had a good time! He looks pretty cute too in all of his hunting stuff. What a man:).
